Data Security M&A: Two Six Technologies Acquires Thresher Ventures
This is technology M&A deal number 438 that MSSP Alert and sister site ChannelE2E have covered so far in 2022.
Thresher provides Two Six with products that national security organizations can use to detect, analyze and predict media manipulation by foreign governments, the companies said. In doing so, Thresher strengthens Two Six’s information operations portfolio.
A Closer Look at Thresher
Thresher offers products that notify organizations about the manipulation of media stories, official statistics or content about their brands and supply chains, the company said. These products are available both on premises and in the cloud.
In addition, Thresher lets organizations incorporate its proprietary annotated data directly into their own products, the company indicated. Organizations can choose relevant data and annotations and generate analytics from it.
Thresher’s products are delivered to customers via subscriptions, which can include data sets, dashboards, alerts and support services. To date, Thresher’s customers include U.S. federal government agencies and global technology companies.
What Does the Thresher Acquisition Mean for Two Six Technologies?
Thresher brings its technical capabilities in software development, data sets, machine learning, natural language processing, research and proprietary data science methodologies to Two Six, the companies noted. As such, Thresher could help Two Six deliver technologies that help national security organizations receive notifications if foreign governments are manipulating their information space.
Also, Thresher could help Two Six accelerate its growth. The Thresher acquisition comes after Two Six in April 2022 purchased River Loop Security, which specializes in Internet of Things (IoT) and embedded device cybersecurity. Previously, Two Six reported more than 50 percent year-over-year revenue growth and expanded its contract portfolio to more than $600 million of available contract ceiling in 2021.
Two Six provides cyber and space operations, data science, information operations, microelectronics, next-generation communications and intelligence products to national security organizations. It is backed by global investment firm The Carlyle Group,
