Volaris Group has purchased Hitachi ID Systems, the identity and privileged access management division of Hitachi, for an undisclosed sum.

This is technology M&A deal number 816 that MSSP Alert and sister site ChannelE2E have covered so far in 2022.

Volaris, founded in 2011, is based in Ontario, Canada. The company has 887 employees listed on LinkedIn. Volaris' areas of expertise include the acquisition, growth and development of software companies.

Hitachi ID, founded in 1992, is based in Alberta, Canada. The company has 125 employees listed on LinkedIn. Hitachi ID's areas of expertise include identity and access management (IAM), single sign-on (SSO) and identity governance.

Hitachi, founded in 1910, is based in Tokyo, Japan. The company has 25,037 employees listed on LinkedIn. Hitachi's areas of expertise include information and telecommunications systems.

Introducing Bravura Security

Volaris has rebranded Hitachi ID as Bravura Security, the company noted. Bravura will operate independently and provide identity, privileged access, password and passwordless products. It also will continue to be led by Hitachi ID CEO Nick Brown.

In addition, Bravura advances Volaris' long term buy-and-hold acquisition strategy, the companies noted. Bravura operates more than 150 independently managed software companies globally and provides them with guidance and financial security to help them serve as leaders in their respective markets.

Hitachi Systems Acquires Manufacturing Systems Integrator, Reorganizes Cybersecurity Businesses

Volaris' Hitachi ID acquisition comes after Hitachi in September 2022 purchased Flexware Innovation, a manufacturing systems integrator. Flexware bolsters Hitachi with manufacturing execution systems (MES), supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA), software development, business intelligence (BI) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) implementation capabilities in North America, the companies said.

Also, Hitachi in September 2022 announced plans to consolidate its North American group companies, Cumulus Systems and Hitachi Systems Security. The companies will form Hitachi Systems Trusted Cyber Management. The combined companies will provide cybersecurity and managed security services to organizations around the world, Hitchai stated.
