Motorola Solutions Acquires Ava Security; Gains Multi-Tenant MSSP Console

White jigsaw puzzle on blue background. Team business success partnership or teamwork

Motorola Solutions has acquired Ava Security Ltd., a London-based provider of cloud-native video security and analytics capabilities. The deal has implications for the managed security services market. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

This is technology M&A deal number 234 that MSSP Alert and sister site ChannelE2E have covered so far in 2022.

Motorola Solutions Acquires Ava Security: Potential MSSP Synergies

Ava Security, founded in 2016, has 169 employees listed on LinkIn. The company's software suite includes a The Reveal MSSP Console -- which is purpose-built for managed security services providers. The MSSP-centric dashboard supports insider risk detection and response services, the seller notes.

Ava Security's overall video revenue grew by more than 300 percent in 2021, and annual recurring revenue rose 500 percent during the period. Still, actual revenue and profit dollar figures were not disclosed.

The Ava Security acquisition reinforces Motorola Solutions' business direction of two fronts. For starters, Motorola Solutions is very strong in video-oriented security services. And longer term, Motorola Solutions has been building out a managed security services practice that's focused on more traditional cybersecurity services. That MSSP effort involved spending $72 million in 2020 to acquire Delta Risk (a Top 250 MSSP) and LunarLine. And in 2021, Motorola Solutions acquired Openpath Security for nearly $300 million.
