Accenture has promoted European cybersecurity leader Paolo Dal Cin to become global head of Accenture Security -- which spans 16,000 cybersecurity professionals. The promotion, effective May 1, surfaces amid continued growth for Accenture's cybersecurity and MSSP business practices.

Dal Cin joined Accenture in 2003 and most recently led the company's security business in Europe. Previously, he led and built Accenture’s cybersecurity business in Italy, central Europe, Greece, Latin America and the Middle East, the firm added.

Next up, Dal Cin steps up onto the global stage -- where Accenture Security generated roughly $6 billion in revenue during fiscal year 2022, the company notes. Key offerings include security strategy, cyber defense, digital identity, application security, cloud protection, operational technology security and managed security, according to company documentation.

Although Accenture has been growing organically, the firm has also made security-focused acquisitions -- including M&A deals involving Symantec’s Cyber Security Services business, Real ProtectSentorLinkbynet, and Openminded, among others to note.
