Trellix has announced generative artificial intelligence capabilities for its eXtended detection and response (XDR) platform.

The company unveiled the capabilities at the Amazon Web Services (AWS) re:Invent 2023 event, which takes place November 27-December 1, 2023 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Trellix Expands Its Partnership with AWS

The new Trellix generative AI capabilities are built on Amazon Bedrock, a platform that lets users develop and launch generative AI applications, and the Trellix Advanced Research Center. They provide users with "accelerated threat remediation and improved support," according to the company.

With Trellix's generative AI capabilities, users can:

  • Conduct AI-guided investigations to evaluate cyber risks and respond to cyberattacks.
  • Utilize Trellix's customer support chatbot to get answers to questions covered in Trellix's product documentation.
  • Leverage AI-based tools that adapt to users' environments and provide users with playbook workflows, the ability to develop custom security rules and access to product integrations.

Trellix and AWS Prioritize Responsible AI

Together, Trellix and AWS deliver responsible AI "with data privacy at the core," the companies said.

Organizations can utilize Trellix and AWS's technologies to custom-train AI outputs and keep their data private, the businesses said.

Also, Trellix follows an ethical-use AI technology policy, the company indicated. Trellix engages with the Open Worldwide Application Security Project (OWASP), World Economic Forum (WEF) and other global organizations and explores ways to govern the responsible use of AI.

Trellix Launches CISO Council

The AWS generative AI capabilities announcement comes after Trellix in July 2023 debuted its Rise of the CISO initiative. As part of the initiative, Trellix created a CISO Council, which focuses on teaching people how to keep pace with the rapidly changing cybersecurity landscape, Trellix CISO Harold Rivas said.

More than 40,000 business and government organizations utilize Trellix's XDR platform to protect against cyber threats. In addition, Trellix provides the Xtend partner program for MSSPs, MSPs and other technology providers.
