Bitdefender Customizes Security for MSPs

Bitdefender, an MSSP Alert Managed Detection and Response (MDR) Top 40 company, has launched GravityZone Cloud MSP Security Solutions. Designed specifically for MSPs and their business customers, Bitdefender said its endpoint protection and MDR services are designed to “detect and eradicate cyberthreats as they occur across any environment” while strengthening overall resiliency against cyberattacks.

Bitdefender cited a recent report by analyst firm Gartner stating that by 2025 60% of organizations will be actively using remote threat disruption and containment capabilities delivered directly by MDR providers, up from 30% in 2023.

Based on the projected growth and adoption of MDR, Bitdefender said that it is crucial for today’s MSPs to have the ability to incorporate security services into their endpoint protection and other cybersecurity offerings.

Andrei Florescu, president and general manager at Bitdefender Business Solutions Group, sees MSPs struggling to provide business customers with effective cybersecurity solutions and expertise needed to keep pace with an evolving threat landscape.

Tiered Offerings Build in EDR, XDR

Powering GravityZone is the GravityZone Platform, a unified security and risk analytics platform that provides endpoint detection and response (EDR), extended detection and response (XDR) and cloud security for physical, virtual and multi-cloud environments. The platform offers a direct path to Bitdefender MDR services for 24x7 threat monitoring, detection and response and human-led threat hunting, the company said.

GravityZone is offered in three tiers: Secure, Secure Plus, and Secure Extra. Each tier is tailored to fit an MSP customers’ specific needs, requirements (including compliance) and budgets.

GravityZone Tiers:

Secure delivers threat prevention (including system hardening), advanced threat security using tunable machine learning and a sandbox analyzer.
Secure Plus provides all features of Secure and adds a layer of protection through MDR services.

Secure Extra provides all features of Secure and Secure Plus, including MDR services, and adds XDR for businesses that require extended threat visibility and detection and response capabilities via identity and productivity applications sensors, on premises or in the cloud.

Bitdefender Spurs Partnerships, Solutions, Acquisitions

In November 2023, Bitdefender partnered with the NBA’s San Antonio Spurs, who secured their operations using Bitdefender MDR in conjunction with Bitdefender GravityZone XDR.

Bitdefender debuted Bitdefender Offensive Services in October 2023. Offensive Services assess, identify and remediate security gaps in on-premises, cloud and hybrid environments through penetration testing and red team-simulated attacks.

Bitdefender launched Threat Intelligence Solution for MSSPs in September 2023. Providing MSSPs with visibility into the global threat landscape, the solution helps MSSPs improve their threat detection and validation, triage alerts, hunt for threats and speed up their incident response. The launch comes after Bitdefender in June 2023 purchased Horangi Cyber Security and incorporated the company's cloud infrastructure entitlement management and cloud security posture management capabilities into the GravityZone platform.
