Bitdefender Launches GravityZone Security Data Lake to Simplify Threat Detection and Cut SIEM Costs

Bitdefender has introduced the GravityZone Security Data Lake, a new addition to its GravityZone platform built to centralize and analyze security data across multiple sources. The platform, also available as part of Bitdefender’s Managed Detection and Response (MDR) service, is designed to give enterprises, MSSPs, and MSPs a simpler way to manage large volumes of telemetry without the high costs and complexity of traditional SIEM tools.

Simplifying a Noisy, Expensive SIEM Market

Most organizations depend on SIEM systems for visibility, but those systems often create their own problems: too many alerts, long setup times, and unpredictable costs.

Ant Karaduman, Group Product Manager at Bitdefender, told MSSP Alert, “Traditional SIEMs are often complex, noisy with excessive alerts, and slow to deliver value. The SIEM market is crowded with tools that promise differentiation but often introduce complicated billing models and hidden operational costs. Bitdefender solves these challenges by combining SIEM and data lake functionality into a single, cloud-delivered platform that simplifies deployment, reduces cost, and accelerates results.”

He added that the platform’s integrated risk and asset framework helps security teams and MSSPs cut through noise and focus on what matters most, reducing alert fatigue while speeding up investigations.

Cutting Data and Storage Costs

Data management is another growing burden for security teams. As telemetry increases, storing and searching through years of logs becomes expensive and inefficient. GravityZone Security Data Lake aims to fix that by merging the best elements of both SIEM and data lake models.

“Bitdefender reduces storage and data costs by unifying SIEM and data lake capabilities in a single platform,” Karaduman explained. “Active data, by definition, is expensive because it must remain instantly searchable and queryable in real time, while data lakes, though less costly, are often slow or difficult to search. GravityZone Security Data Lake delivers the best of both worlds, giving organizations real-time access to active data for investigations and affordable long-term storage for less critical logs.”

The platform automatically tiers data between hot, warm, and archived storage, letting teams keep data accessible for compliance or investigation without manually deciding what to store or delete.

Extending MDR and XDR Visibility

The new platform also strengthens Bitdefender’s existing MDR and XDR services by broadening visibility across tools and environments.

“GravityZone Security Data Lake expands the visibility and correlation capabilities of Bitdefender MDR, enabling analysts to conduct deeper, more informed investigations,” said Karaduman. “Traditionally, MDR visibility was limited to Bitdefender solutions. With GravityZone Security Data Lake, MDR now incorporates telemetry from key third-party security tools, initially focusing on firewalls, to provide richer context and detect and mitigate threats earlier.”

Customers can use the platform directly or alongside Bitdefender’s MDR service without losing data ownership. “Customers don’t have to choose between the MDR service and the product,” he said. “They retain full access to the GravityZone Security Data Lake platform and its data for alerting, investigation, or compliance purposes.”

As threat data continues to multiply, security teams need ways to consolidate insights without adding more tools or cost layers. Bitdefender’s GravityZone Security Data Lake brings telemetry, analytics, and storage management together in one platform, helping enterprises and service providers respond faster and work more efficiently, without losing visibility or control.
