CISO Global has purchased SB Cyber Technologies and plans to expand its managed cybersecurity and compliance capabilities.

SB Cyber is CISO's 17th acquisition to date and now serves as a wholly owned subsidiary of CISO, the companies said in a prepared statement. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

This is technology M&A deal number 209 that MSSP Alert and sister site ChannelE2E have covered so far in 2023.

CISO, founded in 2015, is based in Scottsdale, Arizona. The company has 220 employees listed on LinkedIn. CISO's areas of expertise include managed security, cyber defense operations and security architecture and engineering.

SB Cyber, founded in 2011, is based in Chesapeake, Virginia. The company has three employees listed on LinkedIn. SB Cyber specializes in endpoint detection and response (EDR).

CISO Global Adds SB Cyber Technologies' CHECKLIGHT EDR Technology

With the SB Cyber acquisition, CISO will offer CHECKLIGHT to help its customers detect and address endpoint threats, the companies said.

Furthermore, CISO continues to explore opportunities to "expand its geographic footprint, broaden its solutions portfolio and build its talent base," the company noted.

Commenting on how SB Cyber acquisition bolsters his company's security and compliance services portfolio, CISO CEO David Jemmett said:

"SB Cyber enables us to accelerate our strategy to bring additional talent and a powerful leading-edge technology to our customers at a time when cyber threats are increasingly becoming more prevalent and harder to circumvent."

SB Cyber CEO Rob Hegedus explained how CISO will help his company provide CHECKLIGHT to more organizations than ever before:

"We created CHECKLIGHT four years ago to combine the best in cybersecurity technology and insurance expertise to protect the most vulnerable members of our economic ecosystem... We are excited to join the CISO Global family and bring the unique power of CHECKLIGHT and its warranty to a worldwide client base."

What SB Cyber Technologies' CHECKLIGHT EDR Technology Offers

CHECKLIGHT utilizes the same cybersecurity software engine used by several federal agencies, SB Cyber indicated. It identifies unauthorized processes associated with fraudulent phishing attacks, hacking and other cyber threats.

With CHECKLIGHT, organizations can scan their networks and identify and quarantine malware as it appears, SB Cyber stated. CHECKLIGHT learns about an organization's systems, studies new viruses as it encounters them and develops custom defenses to protect organizations' endpoints.

To date, CHECKLIGHT has never allowed a data breach to go undetected, SB Cyber pointed out. CHECKLIGHT can be installed and up and running on a network within minutes.

CISO provides managed security and compliance services to enterprise and government customers, the company said. It supports organizations in the United States and Latin America.

SB Cyber is a U.S. military veteran-owned EDR provider that focuses on "identifying, enhancing and applying emerging government and military-grade capabilities to critical commercial technical security challenges," the company said. It previously served as a cyber risk management audit and advisory firm before rebranding as an EDR provider in 2022.

CISO and SB Cyber do not currently offer partner programs. However, CISO may look to develop and launch a partner program in the future.
