Darktrace, a British company that specializes in artificial intelligence-based cybersecurity, has purchased attack surface management company Cybersprint for approximately $53.7 million. The acquisition is valued at approximately 12.5 times Cybersprint's annual recurring revenue, according to a prepared statement.
This is technology M&A deal number 200 that MSSP Alert and sister site ChannelE2E have covered so far in 2022.
Darktrace will integrate Cybersprint's attack surface management data into its Darktrace Detect and Respond products, the company noted. In addition, Cybersprint provides Darktrace with a second European research and development center in The Hague, Netherlands.
A Closer Look at Cybersprint
Cybersprint offers an attack surface management platform that automates the discovery of assets across an organization's attack surface, the company stated. The platform uses the following steps to help organizations detect and address cyber risks and vulnerabilities:
- Identification of an organization's attack surface.
- Assessment of the attack surface for risks and vulnerabilities.
- Management of risks and vulnerabilities via security insights and playbooks.
- Reporting to help an organization analyze and optimize its security posture.
Organizations use Cybersprint's platform to detect and discover assets, understand risks and vulnerabilities and guard against cyberattacks. Cybersprint offers the platform to global organizations but does not currently provide a channel partner program.
What Does the Cybersprint Acquisition Mean for Darktrace?
