Jask, the autonomous security operations center (ASOC) platform provider, has hired Monte Sjobakken as VP of business development. Sjobakken is responsible for driving Jask's global MSSP, system integration and technical alliance partnership strategies, according to a prepared statement.
Sjobakken most recently served as senior director of client development at endpoint security company Carbon Black. He also has held sales leadership positions at Global Technology Resources, Citadel Security Software (acquired by McAfee in 2006) and Juniper Networks.
Jask: Three Revenue Development Moves
Hiring Sjobakken is one of three key moves Jask has made to accelerate its business. The others include:
- Naming Mark Boullie as its chief revenue officer; and
- Tom Mitchell as its VP of sales for the west region.
Boullie is responsible for leading Jask's global enterprise and channel sales teams, as well as its business development, customer success and overall revenue operations, the company stated. He previously spent eight years at enterprise security management company ArcSight, which HP acquired in 2010 for $1.5 billion.
Meanwhile, Mitchell now supports Jask's sales in the west region, the company noted. Mitchell most recently served as regional VP of sales at endpoint management company Tanium and has held sales roles at FireEye, Bromium, McAfee and ArcSight.
What Do the New Hires Mean for Jask?
With the aforementioned hires, Jask could further bolster its Answers Partner Network, a channel partner program that was launched earlier this year.
The Answers Partner Network enables MSSPs, value-added resellers (VARs) and technology solution providers to incorporate Jask's ASOC platform into their offerings, according to the company.
The program provides channel partners with access to co-branded marketing collateral, demand generation support, sales training and other tools and resources.
Jask's ASOC Platform, Funding
Jask's ASOC platform automates the correlation and analysis of threat alerts, the company said. It also helps SOC analysts prioritize threats, speed up security investigations and accelerate incident response.
Furthermore, Jask's ASOC platform aggregates data from endpoint technologies, security orchestration, automation and response (SOAR) solutions and other threat intelligence sources, the company indicated. It helps SOC analysts understand the context for security alerts, manage incident response and uncover security insights.
Jask in July 2018 named former McAfee and FireEye CEO Dave DeWalt as vice chairman of its board of directors. The company raised $25 million in Series B funding around the same time.
