Microsoft executive Ryan Roslansky to depart after 18 years

Microsoft is undergoing leadership changes following the departure of Ryan Roslansky, executive vice president overseeing LinkedIn, Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Teams. Roslansky, who spent nearly 18 years with the company, will continue as an advisor to CEO Satya Nadella through the end of the year. The changes involve reassigning executives to report to Copilot, Agents and Platform executive vice president Charles Lamanna and Copilot executive vice president Jacob Andreou, based on information published by CRN.

Roslansky's departure comes as Microsoft continues to integrate its AI offerings, particularly Copilot, across its productivity suite. He cited a desire to remain in the San Francisco Bay Area with his family as a primary reason for leaving, stating he could not commit to being in Redmond full-time. In his place, leadership responsibilities for Office and Teams will shift. Sumit Chauhan and Lan Ye will now report to Charles Lamanna, who also oversees Copilot, Agents, and Platform. Jon Friedman, chief design officer for Microsoft 365, will report to Jacob Andreou, Copilot executive vice president.

Despite these shifts, LinkedIn's leadership, including CEO Dan Shapero and Platforms and Digital Work President Mohak Shroff, remains intact and will continue reporting directly to Microsoft's CEO. This restructuring aims to streamline leadership and accelerate the development and deployment of Microsoft's AI-powered work solutions.
