Today’s MSSP Alert Market News:

1. ASPM Acquisition: Cycode, a specialist in application security posture management (ASPM) has acquired Bearer, an AI-powered static application security testing (SAST), API discovery and data leak protection provider. The acquisition of Bearer will help Cycode achieve in its mission to deliver safe code, faster, the company said. 2. SaaS Security Release: Check Point Software Technologies has introduced Harmony SaaS, an advanced solution for safeguarding against Software-as-a-Service (SaaS)-based threats. The new offering from Check Point offers integrates into customers’ existing infrastructure and provides real-time threat prevention. Harmony SaaS installs within minutes, continually reduces the attack surface and automatically prevents threats as they arise, the company said.

3. Cloud Security Launch: Pentera has brought to market Pentera Cloud as part of its automated security validation platform to complement its Pentera Core and Surface products. Pentera Cloud enables on-demand security testing and resilience assessment of corporate cloud accounts against cloud-native attacks.

4. Funding Round: Six months after coming out of stealth, Sweet Security has secured a $33 million Series A funding round. The round was led by Evolution Equity Partners, joined by Munich Re Ventures and Glilot Capital Partners. Sweet, which specializes in deep runtime analysis to identify and address cloud risks, will use the funding to scale up its operations in the U.S. and expand its platform. Sweet is also unveiling enhancements to its unified runtime platform.

5. CISA Convenes Open Source Security Summit: The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) concluded a two-day Open Source Software (OSS) Security Summit this week convening OSS community leaders and announced key actions to help secure the open source ecosystem. As part of this collaborative effort, CISA announced several initial key actions to help secure the open source ecosystem in partnership with the open source community.

6. Leadership Move: Phosphorus Cybersecurity, a provider of unified, prevention-based security management for the xTended Internet of Things (xIoT), has appointed Mike Sullivan as the president of Worldwide Field Operations, effective April 2024. An industry veteran with more than two decades of experience leading the sales and growth efforts at cybersecurity companies, Sullivan will play a critical role in driving Phosphorus’ global revenue growth and market expansion, the company said.

7. Security Partnership: OPSWAT, a specialist in perimeter defense cybersecurity solutions, has formed a strategic partnership with Foxguard, a global operational technology cybersecurity solutions provider. Foxguard and OPSWAT will combine their efforts on expanding customer outreach, with a focus on the nuclear, oil and gas, transportation and manufacturing industries. 

8. Application Security Release: Cobalt, a Pentest-as-a-Service (PtaaS) provider, has launched its new Dynamic Application Security Testing (DAST) offerings. By combining PtaaS with DAST, security and development teams gain a comprehensive solution for continuously assessing application risk, the company said.
