Today’s MSSP Alert Market News:

1. MDR Offering Debuts: Darktrace, a specialist in cybersecurity AI, has launched its new service offering, Darktrace Managed Detection & Response (MDR). The service combines its detection and response capabilities with the expertise of its global analyst team. This combination augments internal security teams with AI-powered threat containment and expert alert management across Darktrace environments, allowing them to focus resources on more strategic security efforts, like improving cyber resilience, the company said.

2. MSP Report Issued: Barracuda Networks, a cloud-first security solutions provider, has published "The Evolving Landscape of the MSP Business 2024." The report shows how MSPs around the world are embracing marketplaces and AI to better meet customer needs but worry about their lack of knowledge about AI and its applications. The findings show that MSPs continue to shift from project-based customer support to a recurring services model. This year, MSPs expect 44% of their revenue to come from such recurring services, up from 34% in 2023. According to 92% of respondents, businesses are scaling back their in-house IT and relying more on MSPs, and this is likely to be a key driver for the rise in recurring services, Barracuda reports.

3. Passwordless Authentication Release: ManageEngine, a provider of enterprise IT management solutions, has launched its passwordless, phishing-resistant FIDO2 authentication for enterprise applications in ADSelfService Plus, its on-premises identity security solution. ManageEngines has also released endpoint MFA for Windows machines and elevated system actions in Identity360, its cloud-native identity management platform.

4. Threat Intelligence Partnership: DomainTools, a specialist in domain and DNS-based cyber threat intelligence, has released enhancements to the DomainTools App for Splunk, Splunk Enterprise Security, and Splunk SOAR. Now, customers have access to contextualized and operationalized intelligence so they can effectively detect, investigate, and respond to the cybersecurity concerns of their business, the company said.

5. Tenable to Acquire Eureka: Tenable, an exposure management company, announced that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Eureka Security, a provider of data security posture management (DSPM) for cloud environments. Eureka Security helps security teams gain a holistic view into an organization’s cloud data security footprint, fight policy drift and misconfigurations that put data at risk, and continuously improve their security posture over time, the companies said. The acquisition is expected to close this month.

6. Leadership Move: DNSFilter has hired TK Keanini as chief technology officer (CTO). In his new role, Keanini will lead product management, customer experience, engineering and security intelligence. Prior to joining DNSFilter, he was the vice president of security architecture and CTO of Cisco Secure where he led Cisco's Encrypted Traffic Analytics security solution. He has also held leadership roles at security startups Lancope and nCircle Network Security.

7. Partnership Targets MSPs: Syncro and Bitdefender have expanded their partnership to offer MSPs a unified solution for next generation endpoint protection and management. The two companies will host a June 7 webinar, “Syncro RMM & Bitdefender MDR: A Powerful Pair to Secure Your Clients & Drive Revenue,” showcasing how MSPs can harness the MDR, XDR and mobile security to protect clients against cyber threats.

8. MSSP/MSP Makes Acquisition: Omega Systems, operating as both an MSSP and MSP, has acquired Amnet Technology Solutions and Cloudpath. The acquisition accelerates Omega’s growth momentum and provides Amnet and Cloudpath customers with access to deep technical expertise and an extensive portfolio of managed IT, cybersecurity and regulatory compliance services. In addition to Amnet’s core managed services business, Omega has invested in Cloudpath’s multi-cloud connectivity platform, which provides customers with a reliable and secure connection to multiple public cloud and SaaS providers, including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure and hundreds more, the company said.
