Today’s MSSP Alert Market News:

1. Security Training Partnership: Infosec Institute, a cybersecurity education provider, is partnering with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to become an authorized training provider of live, in-person boot camps for AWS certifications. IT and cybersecurity professionals can now enroll in five AWS certification boot camps to build the domain expertise required for successful cloud transformation.

2. Cloud Security Collaboration: Tata Elxsi, through its NEURON product suite, has formed a strategic partnership with AccuKnox, the developer of NIMBUS, a cloud-native security solution. Tata's collaboration with AccuKnow marks a significant advancement in network transformation and security, offering operators a comprehensive solution for building and securing autonomous networks, the company said.

3. CISA Issues Water System Security Guidance: The Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) has released actions water and wastewater systems sector entities can take to reduce risk and improve resilience to malicious cyber activity and provides free services, resources and tools to support these actions. 4. Cybersecurity Staffing Report: ISC2, a nonprofit member organization for cybersecurity professionals, has issued its latest study, "AI in Cyber 2024: Is the Cybersecurity Profession Ready?" The study reveals the real-world impacts that AI has had on cybersecurity. With responses from more than 1,100 cybersecurity professionals, 88% of respondents believe that AI will significantly impact their jobs, now or in the near future, and 35% have already witnessed its effects.

5. Hacker Alert: U-Haul, a company that rents moving equipment and storage space, has started informing customers that a hacker used stolen account credentials to access an internal system for dealers and team members to track customer reservations. The breach exposed customer records that include personal information, although payment details have not been impacted. (Source: Bleeping Computer)

5. Industry Recognition: Cymulate, a security validation and exposure management specialist, has been named a Leader in the 2024 GigaOm Radar for Attack Surface Management (ASM). The report positions Cymulate and its ASM offering as a Leader and Fast Mover in the Maturity and Platform Play quadrant based on key criteria evaluating vendors in the ASM market. According to GigaOm’s research, Cymulate’s “dynamic approach and leadership” in the ASM space underscores its commitment to evolving and adapting to the rapidly changing threat landscape.

6. New SOC Opens: Cybersecurity provider TechDemocracy has launched of its new Cyber Security Operations Center (CSOC) in Hyderabad, India, to provide managed cybersecurity services offering. Operating with a global presence in the US, India, Canada, and the Philippines, TechDemocracy specializes in fully managing identity and cybersecurity solutions that integrate and operate the entire solution under one umbrella, the company said.

7. Report Probes SEC Rules: AuditBoard, a provider of a cloud-based platform transforming audit, risk, compliance and ESG management, has announced the results of an in-depth study on the impact on businesses of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Cybersecurity disclosure rules. The report, based on a survey of more than 300 executives and security professionals across North America, found that 81% of respondents SEC cybersecurity disclosure ruling will substantially impact their business. Only 54% report being highly confident in their organization’s ability to comply with the disclosure ruling.
