Qualys Delivers Vulnerability Management, Detection and Response Solution

Share

Qualys, a company that specializes in information security and compliance, has launched its vulnerability management, detection and response (VMDR) solution, according to a prepared statement. The company previously showcased VMDR at the Qualys Security Conference in February 2020.

Qualys has deep relationships with MSSPs -- including small partners and large service providers. So it's a safe bet the company will promote VMDR to those partners.

VMDR leverages the Qualys Cloud Platform to help organizations orchestrate vulnerability management across hybrid IT environments, the company stated. The cloud-based solution offers a variety of security capabilities, including:

  • Asset Management: Identifies IT assets and provides a real-time asset inventory.
  • Response: Automatically correlates security vulnerabilities and patches for specific hosts.
  • Threat Detection and Prioritization: Alerts users if network irregularities or threats are detected and prioritizes the riskiest vulnerabilities.
  • Vulnerability Management: Continuously detects software vulnerabilities and misconfigurations across asset categories based on CIS benchmarks.

VMDR is now available, and it is priced on a per-asset basis with no software to update.

The Bigger Picture

Global security and vulnerability management solutions market revenues are expected to increase at a compound annual growth rate of 9.3 percent between 2018 and 2026, industry analyst Credence Research indicated. Increases in cybercriminal activity and software vulnerabilities are among the primary factors that could drive the demand for security and vulnerability management solutions.
