MSSP M&A: Government CMMC Security Consultant Rimstorm Acquires Elevative Networks

Government security consulting firm Rimstorm has acquired Elevative Networks, a provider of managed IT and security services. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Rimstorm, based in Herndon, Virginia, has nine employees listed on LinkedIn. The company positions itself as a managed security service provider (MSSP) that offers outsourced monitoring and management of security devices and systems. Rimstorm also specializes in the new Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) standard and NIST 800-171.

Elevative Networks, based in Vienna, Virginia, was founded in 2005. The MSP's services include strategy, planning, risk minimization and budgeting to align technology with business goals, Elevative indicates.

In a prepared statement about the deal, Rimstorm CEO Ben Gerenstein said:
