SentinelOne has released DataSet, a cloud-based analytics solution that allows users to process large amounts of live or historical data in real time and at petabyte scale. The launch suggests SentinelOne may be seeking to push beyond cybersecurity use cases while competing head-on against Splunk, among other potential rivals.Among DataSet's key capabilities, SentinelOne said that the system can:
Users can store data indefinitely via DataSet-hosted or customer-managed storage.Along with releasing DataSet, SentinelOne has named Rahul Ravulur as its GM for the platform. Ravulur has more than 25 years of experience in building and operating enterprise products at scale. He most recently worked with Splunk and supported the company's product management and strategy. Ravulur also cofounded AppOrbit, an application platform provider, and has held leadership roles at VMware and BMC Software.
