SolarWinds has launched Avior, a new standalone agentic AI system designed to enhance IT management and observability within enterprise environments. This system aims to automate routine tasks and improve operational resilience, as reported by Channeldive.
Avior, built on SolarWinds' IT management and full-stack observability platform, operates as a deterministic AI system capable of completing tasks, coordinating multi-agent activities, and tracking processes in enterprise IT settings. It continuously monitors devices, backups, bandwidth, and costs, distilling issues into single alerts and managing the IT asset lifecycle. SolarWinds intends for Avior to handle first-line IT work, allowing human teams to concentrate on strategic planning. Unlike previous AI assistants, Avior is designed to operationalize insights and offload tasks autonomously.
It can detect out-of-band changes, restore configurations, snapshot running configurations, flag devices out of coverage, and retire ghost assets. Users can configure Avior's autonomy level, with options ranging from a conservative mode requiring human approval for all actions to a fully autonomous mode. Managed service providers are expected to play a key role in extending Avior's capabilities to customers. Avior will be available as SaaS and self-hosted starting October 14, 2026.
