WatchGuard Technologies has purchased
CyGlass and will integrate the company's technology into its
Unified Security Platform architecture.
Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
This is technology M&A deal number 260 that MSSP Alert and sister site ChannelE2E have covered so far in 2023.
WatchGuard, founded in 1996, is based in Seattle, Washington. The company has 1,025 employees listed on
LinkedIn. WatchGuard's areas of expertise include endpoint, identity and network security.
CyGlass, founded in 2020, is based in Littleton, Massachusetts. The company has 22 employees listed on
LinkedIn. Cyglass' areas of expertise include network detection and response (NDR) and eXtended detection and response (XDR).
What the CyGlass Acquisition Means for WatchGuard Technologies
WatchGuard will use CyGlass' technology to deliver a network detection and response (NDR) service. This service will provide artificial intelligence-based detection of network anomalies.
In addition, Cyglass' technology will bolster the Open eXtended detection and response (XDR) capabilities within the
WatchGuard ThreatSync solution, according to WatchGuard. As such, ThreatSync users can utilize CyGlass' technology to detect and respond to threats faster.
WatchGuard Technologies Expands Its Identity Protection Capabilities
The CyGlass acquisition comes after WatchGuard in July 2023
announced the AuthPoint Total Identity Security bundle for MSPs.
AuthPoint Total Identity Security blends AuthPoint multi-factor authentication (MFA) with dark web credential monitoring capabilities and a corporate password manager, WatchGuard noted. MSPs can use AuthPoint Total Identity Security to provide credentials monitoring, dark web exposure alerts and password management to their customers.
