Organizations can now ingest data from the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Amazon Security Lake into the Stellar Cyber Open eXtended Detection and Response (XDR) Platform, the company announced.

What Open XDR Offers

Stellar Cyber's Open XDR provides Security Lake users with a variety of security capabilities, including:

  • Network detection and response (NDR)
  • Next-generation security information and event management (NG-SIEM)
  • Security orchestration, automation and response (SOAR)
  • User entity and behavior analytics (UEBA)

Open XDR automatically correlates alerts, logs and telemetry data and provides Security Lake users with insights into threats, Stellar Cyber noted. In doing so, the platform enriches these users' data analysis and speeds up threat detection.

Commenting on the Open XDR-Security Lake integration, Sam Jones Stellar Cyber vice president of Product Management, said:

"By integrating Amazon Security Lake with our Open XDR Platform, security teams can achieve an elevated level of risk visibility, enabling them to detect and eliminate threats quickly."

Rod Wallace, Security Lake general manager, added:

"Amazon Security Lake simplifies the process of addressing security needs for AWS customers by eliminating the complexities of manual data integration. By centralizing security-relevant data in a single data lake, analysts and engineers can access real-time information, enabling solutions like Stellar Cyber to swiftly detect and mitigate potential threats."

Stellar Cyber Hires Cybersecurity Industry Veteran, Expands Globally

The Open XDR-Security Lake integration comes after Stellar Cyber in May 2023 hired David Wagner as its vice president of Global Service Provider Sales. Wagner is expected to help Stellar Cyber drive Open XDR adoption among MSSPs, Stellar Cyber noted.

In his career, Wagner has held senior management roles at various companies in the MSSP market, including:

Previously, Malaysian MSSP Provintell in April 2023 integrated Open XDR into its Threat Intelligence as First Line of Defense services.

Also, technology services group NextGen Group Philippines in April 2023 announced that it is providing Filipino organizations with cybersecurity solutions powered by Open XDR.

Organizations can leverage OpenXDR to achieve an eight-fold improvement in mean time to detect (MTTD) and a 20-fold improvement in mean time to respond (MTTR) to cyberattacks, Stellar Cyber indicated.

Meanwhile, Stellar Cyber offers the Jumpstart Partner Program for MSSPs. To date, at least 18 MSSPs have joined this program.
