Intel 471 has launched a free Cyber Threat Intelligence Maturity Pulse Check to help organizations assess how developed their CTI programs are and where they need more structure. The self-assessment is based on the Cyber Threat Intelligence Capability Maturity Model, or CTI-CMM v1.3, and gives practitioners a faster way to review current capabilities before moving into a deeper program evaluation. The pulse check turns each of the CTI-CMM’s 11 domains into one representative question, with answers mapped to a maturity scale. Intel 471 says the assessment takes about 10 to 15 minutes and is built for practitioners, CTI program leaders and security executives. At the end, users receive an overall maturity tier, along with priority gaps and five suggested next steps. Many CTI teams are still trying to prove how intelligence supports the business. Intel 471 cited the 2026 SANS Cyber Threat Intelligence Survey, which found that 43% of CTI programs do not track maturity over time, while only 26% of CISOs believe CTI helps drive strategic decisions. That gap matters because CTI teams are being asked to do more than produce threat reports. They need to show how intelligence supports risk decisions, budget conversations and security planning.Intel 471 is positioning the tool as a starting point rather than a full maturity rating. The assessment groups users into four tiers: Emerging, Reactive, Operational and Intelligence-led. The company is also offering a complimentary half-day workshop focused on operationalizing the CTI-CMM, building analytical traceability, extracting Priority Intelligence Requirements and proving ROI.
