Intruder adds free exposure management plan for lean security teams

Intruder has launched a permanent free plan that gives security, IT, and DevOps teams access to parts of its exposure management platform at no cost. The free tier includes weekly vulnerability scans, cloud security posture checks, container image scanning, attack surface monitoring, remediation validation, cyber hygiene reporting, and limited access to AI pentesting agents.

The launch is aimed at smaller and midmarket organizations that face real security exposure but often lack the budget, staffing, or procurement flexibility to adopt larger enterprise tools. Intruder said its Security Middle Child research found that 46% of midmarket security teams believe enterprise platforms assume more staff, budget, or complexity than they can support, while 29% said tools built for smaller businesses no longer meet their needs.

Intruder’s Free plan is designed for small attack surfaces, or for practitioners responsible for one part of a larger environment. It supports weekly scheduled scans for up to five external targets, misconfiguration checks across one AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud environment, weekly scans for two container images, continuous change monitoring on ports 80 and 443, unlimited remediation scans, a cyber hygiene score, one automated AI pentesting investigation credit per month, and access for up to three users.

For lean security teams, the free tier gives them a way to start finding and validating exposures without waiting for budget approval or committing to a paid platform upfront. For Intruder, the move creates a lower-friction entry point into its exposure management suite, allowing teams to prove value on a smaller footprint before expanding coverage across more of the business.
