New quantum and cybersecurity show to launch at GISEC Global 2027

The success of the 15th edition of GISEC Global has led to the launch of a new event, Global Quantum X (GQX) by GITEX, which will unite the world's quantum and cybersecurity sectors, according to coverage from TahawulTech.

GQX 2027, co-located with GISEC Global 2027, aims to bring together governments, quantum technology leaders, cybersecurity authorities, research institutions, and investors. The event will explore technologies and security frameworks for a new quantum era, which McKinsey estimates could unlock $2.7 trillion in global economic value over the next decade. The rapid advancement of quantum technology presents both opportunities and challenges for cybersecurity, requiring a reevaluation of data protection strategies.

H.E. Dr Mohamed Al Kuwaiti highlighted the importance of international collaboration in navigating the transition to a post-quantum era. GQX will focus on quantum-safe migration, sovereign cryptographic capabilities, and national readiness testing. The event will cover quantum computing, quantum-secured communications, and next-generation sensing, with a specific emphasis on post-quantum security and cryptographic transition.
