Editor’s note: MSSP Alert is profiling companies listed on the 2022 Top 250 MSSPs list. We thank them for responding to our questionnaire.

Founded in 2010 by former casino IT executives, Orbis Solutions is a Las Vegas, Nevada-based company specializing in security services for small and medium-sized business — and is ranked No. 232 on MSSP Alert’s 2022 Top 250 MSSPs list.

Catering to the Casino Clientele

Orbis is Nevada Gaming Control Board-approved IT service provider, delivering IT and cybersecurity to four Las Vegas casinos, among other clients. Orbis offers a 24/7 security operations center (SOC) to monitor all our customers. The company has 14 employees, nine of whom are dedicated to cybersecurity.

Among Orbis’ “smartest” moves in 2022 were enhancements to the Orbis Security Stack, its zero trust framework, endpoint TLS/SSL inspection, and password manager, according to Sean Connery, the company’s chief security officer.

Connery acknowledged that 2022 wasn’t always easy:

“We took on an international manufacturing company that had us only secure the U.S. data assets. The rest of world got ransomed, but we detected hacker tools attempting to be used and our team ended the attack.”

Proud to Be Ranked in the Top 250

As for Orbis’ biggest achievement in 2022, Connery says that “we became a Top 250 ranked worldwide MSSP.”

He notes key priorities for 2023 include a focus on providing virtual chief security officer (vCSO) services:

“We have four senior people getting training and we are building out our offering. We need to educate the risks to C-suite executives and board members.”
