MSSP OrbitalFire Launches SMB Cybersecurity Services Platform

MSSP OrbitalFire has released a cybersecurity services platform for small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs), according to a prepared statement. OrbitalFire also has announced plans to partner with IT services firms and MSPs via its channel program.

OrbitalFire offers a variety of cybersecurity solutions tailored to SMBs, including:

  • Compliance: Enables SMBs to prepare for security audits and comply with HIPAA, PCI and other industry regulations.
  • Data Security: Helps SMBs protect their data, regardless of where it is stored or who has access to it.
  • Network Security: Provides 24/7 security monitoring across SMBs' networks.
  • Security Strategy: Allows SMBs to develop and deploy a custom security strategy.

Along with these cybersecurity solutions, OrbitalFire offers regulatory compliance, risk management, assessment, training, security monitoring and other security services.

Should MSSPs Target SMBs?

OrbitalFire looks poised to capitalize on rising demand for managed security services among SMBs that face myriad security challenges.

SMBs often face challenges related to HR demands to hire experts who can identify pertinent cybersecurity risks and determine the best methods to secure their data and networks, according to research compiled using data from the Kaspersky IT Security Calculator. Furthermore, nearly half of SMBs have been victimized by ransomware and almost 75 percent of these victims have paid cyber ransoms, a recent survey of 500 C-suite executives revealed.

Meanwhile, 32 percent of SMBs are engaging MSSPs to support their organizations' IT security functions, a report from password security provider Keeper indicated. The Keeper report also showed that 70 percent of SMBs partner with MSSPs to monitor or manage firewalls or intrusion prevention systems and 39 percent leverage MSSPs to monitor or manage multifunction firewalls.
