Forcepoint, a Raytheon-owned company that offers cloud, data, government and network security solutions, has acquired security analytics provider RedOwl for an undisclosed sum.

RedOwl brings a security analytics platform to Forcepoint's cybersecurity system, Forcepoint stated, and delivers real-time insights into anomalous interactions and access across applications, data, devices and people.

With the acquisition, Forcepoint will integrate RedOwl's user and entity behavior analytics (UEBA) technology with its own technology to deliver a "holistic view of cyber behaviors to identify and address enterprise risk in real-time," Forcepoint said in a prepared statement. In addition, the Forcepoint DLP and Forcepoint Insider Threat solutions now will help organizations understand and respond to the behaviors and intent of people, the company stated.

RedOwl technology will be integrated across the Forcepoint portfolio and with customers' existing technologies, Forcepoint noted. Also, RedOwl technology and employees will join Forcepoint's data and insider threat security business.

Forcepoint Eyes Global Expansion

The RedOwl acquisition is one of several recent moves that Forcepoint has made to extend its cybersecurity market reach and global presence.

Forcepoint this month appointed Kevin Isaac as vice president of sales for EMEA and George Chang as vice president of sales for APAC. Both Isaac and Chang are expected to help Forcepoint drive customer engagement across its entire cybersecurity portfolio, the company said in a prepared statement.

Isaac possesses more than three decades of experience in the international technology sector, according to Forcepoint. He previously served as senior vice president for EMEA enterprise sales at Symantec and has held various sales leadership and general manager roles in his career.

Chang has more than 20 years of experience in international business across the technology industry, Forcepoint stated. He most recently served as regional vice president of APAC sales at Fortinet and has held senior leadership positions at multiple technology companies.

Forcepoint takes a systems-oriented approach to insider threat detection and analytics, cloud-based user and application protection, next-generation network protection, data security and systems visibility, the business said. It boasts 20 years of frontline cybersecurity experience and supports 20,000 government organizations and enterprises worldwide.
