Tenable Acquires Cymptom: Business Background

Cymptom's attack path analysis and prioritization capabilities will be integrated into the Tenable.ep cyber exposure platform, Tenable CEO Nico Popp said. They also will augment the platform's prioritization, benchmarking, trending and other capabilities.

Cymptom was founded in 2019 and is led by Israeli Defense Force veterans and white hat hackers. It helps organizations test and evaluate threats according to the MITRE ATT&CK framework and the hacker's attack perspective without agents or running simulated attacks.

Organizations can use Cryptom's platform to prioritize response ahead of and during cyberattacks, Tenable indicated. That way, they can understand cyber threats and eliminate attack points across their IT infrastructure.

Tenable: M&A Experience, Business Focus

Tenable has M&A experience. The company finalized its acquisition of Alsid, a Microsoft Active Directory (AD) security provider in April 20221. The Alsid purchase price was $98 million, the buyer said in February 2021.

Alsid has helped Tenable deliver Tenable.ad, which security professionals can use to identify and prevent AD attacks, the company stated. Tenable.ad also identifies and mitigates AD attacks without agents or privileges.

Tenable provides a cyber exposure platform used by over 40,000 organizations globally. It supports more than 50 percent of the Fortune 500 and several government agencies.

Organizations can use Tenable's platform to understand and reduce cyber risk, the company noted. They also can view and secure any digital asset, on any computing platform.

Furthermore, Tenable partners with MSSPs and updated its partner portal in January 2021. Tenable allows MSSPs to use its platform to deliver cloud-based vulnerability management services.
