Everbridge, a critical event management (CEM) and national public warning software solutions company, has hired former Zix and AppRiver executive David Wagner as its president and CEO.

Wagner will drive Everbridge's go-to-market strategy and lead the company through its next phase of growth, said Jaime Ellertson, chairman of Everbridge's board of directors.

David Wagner and Entrust: More Details

Wagner most recently was president and CEO of Zix, an MSP-focused cloud security and data protection provider that acquired AppRiver. From there, OpenText ultimately purchased both AppRiver and Zix in December 2021. Under Wagner's leadership, Zix increased each of its annual recurring revenues, EBITDA and resulting enterprise value by over 400%, Everbridge noted.

Earlier, Wagner held leadership roles at Entrust, which specializes in identity, payments and infrastructure security solutions. He also has 30 years of leadership experience and SaaS and cybersecurity industry expertise.

The Wagner hire comes after Everbridge in July 2022 integrated a Service Intelligence correlation and analytics module into its Digital Operations platform. Service Intelligence helps organizations respond to service interruptions, failed or emergency changes and patch or security incidents, Everbridge said.

Service Intelligence combines visualizations for mapping service graphs with dependency mapping, root-cause identification, service ownership, change intelligence and automation, Everbridge said. In doing so, the module helps organizations keep their IT services running and minimize digital disruptions.

A Closer Look at Everbridge

Everbridge provides software applications that help organizations respond to cyberattacks and other security events, the company noted. More than 6,200 customers globally use Everbridge's CEM platform to analyze threat data and identify, respond to and remediate security threats.

MSSPs and MSPs can join Everbridge's channel partner program to integrate the company's CEM platform into their offerings. The program also provides channel partners with access to product support, marketing programs and tools and sales training.
