Accenture Buys MNEMO Mexico, Extends Global Reach

Accenture, a Top 250 MSSP and global consulting and technology company, has purchased MNEMO Mexico as it looks to bolster its presence in Mexico and Latin America, according to the company.

Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.  

This is technology M&A deal number 288 that MSSP Alert and sister site ChannelE2E have covered so far in 2023.

Accenture, founded in 1989, is based in Dublin, Ireland. The company has 541,251 employees listed on LinkedIn. Accenture's areas of expertise include security, artificial intelligence (Ai) and data and analytics.

MNEMO, founded in 2012, is based in Mexico City, Mexico. The company is not currently listed on LinkedIn. MNEMO's areas of expertise include generative AI and cyber defense and response.

What MNEMO Mexico Brings to Accenture

MNEMO provides managed cybersecurity services, industry expertise and a client base that is an "ideal partner" to complement Accenture's existing capabilities, said Paolo Dal Cin, global lead for Accenture Security. MNEMO will work with Accenture to help organizations make their operations more cyber resilient and secure their digital cores, technologies and supply chains, Dal Cin noted.

In addition, MNEMO's cybersecurity professionals will join Accenture Security's workforce of more than 19,500 professionals globally, the companies stated. These professionals will extend Accenture's resources and capabilities in Mexico and Latin America and address the growing regional demand for managed security services.

Accenture Continues to Make Security Acquisitions

Dating back to 2015, Accenture has made 17 security acquisitions, the company said. These acquisitions include:

  • Morphus, an MSSP and cyber defense, risk management and threat intelligence services provider
  • Sentor, a Swedish MSSP and cyber defense services provider
  • Openminded, an MSSP and cybersecurity consulting services company

Accenture Earns Top Spot on Gartner List for MSSPs

Gartner ranked Accenture first among the businesses it included in its "Market Share: Managed Security Services, Worldwide, 2022" report. Accenture outperformed other companies included in this report in terms of managed security services market share by revenue.

Accenture offers cyber strategy, protection and resilience services to global organizations. The company may keep looking to bolster its cybersecurity capabilities through acquisitions and partnerships as well.
