AWS Cancels re:Inforce 2021 Cloud Cybersecurity Conference

Amid COVID-19 Delta variant concerns, Amazon Web Services has canceled the AWS re:Inforce 2021 conference, which was scheduled for August 24-25 in Houston, Texas. A free virtual event, featuring keynote and leadership sessions, is now scheduled in its place.

This is the second consecutive year that Amazon has canceled AWS re:Inforce's face-to-face conference amid the coronavirus pandemic.

AWS re:Inforce, launched in 2019, quickly attracted an MSSP following. Numerous Top 250 MSSPs were on-hand at that initial conference — including Alert LogicAnitianCisco Systems, Delta Risk (now owned by Motorola Solutions) DeloitteIBM and PwC, among others.

Meanwhile, security and technology companies are watching the Delta variant closely, and striving to potentially fine-tune conference plans according.

During an August 11, 2021, earnings call with Wall Street analysts, Weller described how the pandemic could potentially impact DattoCon21, a popular MSP-focused technology conference that's scheduled for October 2021 in Seattle, Washington.
