Barracuda Launches AI Assistant to Streamline Security Operations for MSPs and Enterprises

Barracuda Networks has launched Barracuda Assistant, an AI-powered companion designed to help organizations and MSPs simplify the way they detect, investigate, and respond to cyber threats. Integrated within the BarracudaONE cybersecurity platform, the assistant delivers real-time, data-driven insights that strengthen resilience, streamline operations, and help teams work faster without adding headcount.

Smarter Security Backed by Two Decades of Data

As security environments grow more complex, MSPs and internal IT teams face the challenge of managing multiple tools, fragmented workflows, and a constant stream of alerts. Barracuda Assistant was built to bring order and speed to that chaos. The assistant consolidates intelligence, recommendations, and troubleshooting guidance into a single conversational interface that adapts to the user’s skill level.

Sean Butler, VP of Product Marketing at Barracuda, told MSSP Alert that what truly sets the assistant apart is its foundation. “Barracuda Assistant stands apart from other AI tools with the breadth and depth of data and knowledge behind it,” he said. “Barracuda leverages more than 20 years of historical threat intelligence to fine-tune detection models, supported by one of the largest real-time threat data networks globally.”

That mix of long-term threat data and real-time intelligence gives MSPs a clear advantage. Butler said Barracuda Assistant isn’t just another chatbot; it is built to think and respond like an experienced team member who understands security operations.

“For MSPs handling multiple environments, Barracuda Assistant and the BarracudaONE platform help streamline operations and reduce tool sprawl and configuration errors. This cuts down on training time and the need for additional resources,” he said. “The technical expertise embedded in Barracuda Assistant helps users of all skill levels become proficient, improving efficiency and reducing the risk of costly mistakes.”

Advancing Partner Capabilities and Creating New Opportunities

For Barracuda’s partner ecosystem, the integration of the assistant across BarracudaONE, Barracuda XDR, and Barracuda SecureEdge represents a shift in how MSPs can deliver security and support services. Instead of spending hours navigating different consoles or escalating basic troubleshooting, teams can access consistent, accurate answers directly through a unified interface.

“Integrating Barracuda Assistant into these platforms advances how partners deliver security and support by streamlining operations and elevating expertise,” Butler said. He emphasized that efficiency remains the biggest gain. “The assistant reduces time spent on investigations and troubleshooting, and helps teams understand complex issues faster.”

The broader goal is to help partners scale intelligently. “It empowers users of all skill levels by giving them instant, accurate answers through a conversational interface, eliminating the need to search multiple tools or guess their way to solutions. This accelerates learning, boosts confidence, and improves overall team productivity,” Butler noted.

That added speed and confidence don’t just enhance service delivery; they also create new business potential. “These efficiencies open the door to new recurring revenue opportunities, particularly in managed services. By delivering faster, smarter support without adding headcount, MSPs can scale their offerings and differentiate themselves in a competitive market.”

Keeping Guidance Accurate and Reliable

Behind the AI-driven interface lies a deliberate focus on accuracy, validation, and trust. While Barracuda Assistant isn’t yet intended for direct real-time threat response, the company designed it to act as a dependable advisor throughout the investigation and remediation process.

“Barracuda Assistant is designed to help users navigate threats, troubleshoot issues, and access actionable insights quickly, but it is not currently intended for direct real-time threat response at this stage,” Butler explained. “To ensure accuracy and reliability, we maintain a continuous validation process that includes robust feedback loops from customers and internal testing to validate responses.”

This constant cycle of refinement ensures that recommendations stay relevant as threats evolve, giving MSPs and customers confidence in every insight the assistant provides.

Barracuda Assistant is now available within the BarracudaONE platform, offering customers and channel partners a single interface to manage solutions, accounts, licenses, and threat response. It will soon expand to Barracuda XDR, Barracuda SecureEdge, and the company’s support portal, extending its reach across the broader Barracuda ecosystem.
