Check Point Software Technologies and Orange Cyberdefense have unveiled a joint mobile managed security service. The new service, Orange Mobile Threat Protection, enables enterprises to safeguard their mobile devices against current and emerging cyber threats, according to a prepared statement.Mobile Threat Protection is an Orange managed service that provides threat detection and alerts without impacting a mobile device's performance or battery life, Orange noted. It combines Check Point's Sandblast Mobile technology and Orange Device Management Premium enterprise mobility management (EMM) solution to detect malware and vulnerabilities.Mobile Threat Protection runs in the background of an end user's mobile device, according to Orange. It safeguards mobile devices against man-in-the-middle attacks, operating system exploits and other cyberattacks and provides an administrator dashboard that delivers security insights and threat analysis.Organizations can leverage Mobile Threat Protection as a standalone managed service, Orange noted. Also, organizations can integrate Mobile Threat Protection directly into mobile device management (MDM) solutions to automate threat remediation and reduce risk exposure.Mobile Threat Protection is now available for iOS and Android devices.Check Point offers cybersecurity solutions to enterprises and government agencies. The company boasts more than 100,000 customers globally and looks poised to capitalize on the rising demand for mobile security services.The global mobile security market is projected to expand at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 46.6 percent between 2016 and 2022 and could be worth $73.5 billion by 2022, market research firm KBV Research indicated.
