Forescout Technologies, an automated cybersecurity solutions provider backed by private equity firm Advent International, has announced the Frontline threat hunting service to help security teams identify risks and speed up incident response.

Frontline is intended for organizations that lack the internal resources and visibility to defend themselves against cyberattacks, Forescout said. It helps these organizations overcome staffing resources and asset visibility challenges and find ways to improve their security posture.

How Does Forescout Frontline Work?

Frontline allows security teams to discover, validate and prioritize cyber threats and vulnerabilities across their cyber assets, Forescout indicated. Security teams can use Frontline to analyze the context and risk associated with their assets and generate insights to develop risk mitigation and remediation strategies.

In addition, Frontline operationalizes vulnerability research and threat intelligence from Forescout's Vedere Labs research team, the company stated. It provides security teams with access to Frontline analysts with training in threat detection and incident response.

Also, Frontline empowers security teams to use the Forescout Continuum Platform for threat hunting across multiple dimensions, the company noted. That way, security teams can identify threats and risks that can otherwise go undetected.

Demand for such services appears strong. Indeed, the global threat intelligence market -- which fuels threat hunting -- is projected to reach $15.8 billion by 2026, which represents a 6.5% Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) from 2021, according to Markets and Markets.

Forescout Bolsters Continuum Platform, Acquires Healthcare Cybersecurity Provider

The Frontline announcement comes after Forescout in April 2022 enhanced the operational technology (OT) and Internet of Things (IoT) capabilities of its Continuum Platform. The upgraded capabilities enable organizations to use the platform to continuously manage the risk posture of their cyber assets, the company said.

Furthermore, Forescout in February 2022 acquired CyberMDX, a healthcare cybersecurity provider. ForeScout and CyberMDX together offer software that addresses IoT device visibility, classification, threat detection and incident response for healthcare organizations, the company stated.

Forescout automates cybersecurity across the digital terrain. The company provides a partner program that lets MSSPs, MSPs and other technology providers integrate its automated cybersecurity solutions into their offerings.
