Fortinet Upgrades Its Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) Solution

The Fortinet FortiSASE solution now features an integration with the Fortinet WLAN portfolio that allows organizations to securely connect their remote workers and distributed edges, according to the company.

In addition, Fortinet has integrated digital experience monitoring (DEM) innovations into FortiSASE to optimize the user experience, the company stated.

Fortinet Delivers SASE for Microbranches and IoT and OT Devices

FortiSASE helps organizations secure their microbranches and devices, Fortinet noted.

Organizations can use FortiAP wireless access points to intelligently offload traffic from microbranches to a SASE point of presence (POP) for security inspection at scale for their devices, Fortinet said.

They also can control these microbranches and devices from a cloud-based management console, according to Fortinet.

FortiSASE Offers FortiGuard-Powered Data Loss Prevention (DLP), DEM

The DLP service for FortiSASE protects organizations' data across their hybrid environments, Fortinet said. This service utilizes data identifiers, file types, SaaS applications and data-matching techniques to prevent data leaks.

Furthermore, Fortinet's DEM offering integrates with FortiSASE to provide insights across users, Fortinet global SASE POPs and the performance of SaaS applications, the company indicated.

Fortinet DEM also offers endpoint monitoring that provides IT teams with information that they can use to reduce their resolution times and deliver positive user experiences, the company stated.

Fortinet Unveils SD-WAN Services, Expands Secure Networking Portfolio

The FortiSASE enhancements come after Fortinet in August 2023 announced two SD-WAN services: an Underlay Performance Monitoring Service for SD-WAN and an Overlay-as-a-Service offering for SD-WAN.

Fortinet's Underlay Performance Monitoring Service offers network visibility to help IT teams prioritize network traffic and address operational issues, the company indicated.

Meanwhile, Fortinet's Overlay-as-a-Service lets users utilize the company's FortiCloud solution to deploy and manage their networks, the business noted.

Also, Fortinet in August 2023 released its FortiGate 90G series of next-generation firewalls (NGFWs). Organizations can use these firewalls for artificial intelligence-powered threat protection, Fortinet stated.

Fortinet offers over 50 products to help organizations secure their people, devices and data, the company said. These products are used by more than 500,000 customers globally. MSSPs, MSPs and other technology providers can join the Fortinet Engage partner program to integrate these products into their portfolios.
