Mandiant Beta Tests MDR Security Service for CrowdStrike, SentinelOne Customers

Share

Mandiant has announced a beta test program for Managed Defense -- a new managed detection and response (MDR) security service. The program, unveiled at the 2022 RSA Conference in San Francisco, California, is open to select CrowdStrike Falcon and SentinelOne Singularity Endpoint customers. Previously, CrowdStrike partnered with Mandiant in April 2022, and SentinelOne partnered with Mandiant in February 2022.

Program participants can receive alert monitoring from Mandiant Managed Defense global security operations centers (SOCs) and alert triage and investigation by Mandiant experts, the company said. They also can gain insights into active or past data breaches and generate security assessments and recommendations. Furthermore, participants can share feedback about Managed Defense before it becomes generally available later in 2022.

The beta test comes as Google Cloud seeks to finalize the Mandiant acquisition -- though the Department of Justice reportedly is taking a closer look at the deal.

A Closer Look at Mandiant Managed Defense

Managed Defense protects organizations' endpoints, networks, clouds, emails and operations against cyberattacks, Mandiant indicated. Organizations can use Managed Defense to reduce attacker dwell-time and respond to cyberattacks.

With Managed Defense, organizations can look for threats and generate threat intelligence that they can use to find ways to improve their security posture, Mandiant stated. They also can contain threats and receive remediation recommendations from Mandiant's security experts.

In addition to announcing its Managed Defense beta program, Mandiant in June 2022 has launched the Cyber Alliance Program for cybersecurity technology providers. Mandiant introduced the program at the 2022 RSA Conference.

Inaugural Cyber Alliance Program partners include:

  • Cloudflare
  • CrowdStrike
  • Google Cloud
  • Microsoft
  • SentinelOne

The Cyber Alliance Program is open to MSSPs, MSPs and other cybersecurity technology providers, Mandiant stated. It lets partners use Mandiant's technologies to deliver threat intelligence and managed security services.

Mandiant Boosts Security Revenues

Prior to unveiling its Cyber Alliance Program and Managed Defense beta program, Mandiant reported $130 million in revenue in the financial quarter ending March 31, 2022. This represented a 13 percent year-over-year increase.
