Mandiant Unveils Cybersecurity Training Program

Share

Mandiant, which specializes in incident response, security assessments and threat intelligence, has announced the Mandiant Academy cybersecurity training program. The program surfaced during the company's Cyber Defense Summit, a hybrid event being held both in person in Washington D.C. and virtually.

The academy provides access to on-demand cyber threat intelligence training courses, Mandiant stated. Security practitioners can use these courses to learn best practice threat intelligence frameworks and enhance their security skills.

In addition, the academy offers various training options for security practitioners of different skill and experience levels, Mandiant noted. These training options include:

  • A certifications program that tests security teams' incident response capabilities and threat intelligence knowledge against real world cyber threats
  • Instructor-led courses dedicated to one organization or delivered remotely to individual security professionals
  • Custom, hands-on learning experiences designed to validate a security team’s capabilities based on real world scenarios from Mandiant's ThreatSpace cyber range
  • A three-day cyber simulation exercise that emulates real world threats

Along with launching the academy, Mandiant has released "The Defender’s Advantage" book for cybersecurity professionals and organization leaders. The Defender's Advantage provides insights to help cybersecurity professionals and organization leaders identify and address cyber threats, Mandiant indicated.

Mandiant Completes Name Change, Hires Channel Sales Executive

The academy surfaces the same week that the company bet its business on the Mandiant brand while selling off the FireEye products group (which will merge with McAfee enterprise).

Furthermore, Mandiant has hired Dee Dee Acquista as VP of channel sales for the Americas. Acquista previously held channel roles at cybersecurity companies BeyondTrust, Proofpoint and SentinelOne.

Mandiant offers the Advantage SaaS platform to deliver cybersecurity solutions. Organizations can use Advantage to retrieve threat intelligence, automate alert investigation and prioritization and validate security product controls.
