Network Perception, a network audit, compliance and security software provider, has raised $2.73 million in a seed funding round led by venture capital firms Serra Ventures, Okapi Venture Capital and Energy Foundry, according to a prepared statement.
Critical infrastructure providers such as electrical utilities leverage Network Perception's software to manage their cybersecurity, the company stated. They can use Network Perception's NP-View or NP-Live products to analyze their IT infrastructure and identify and mitigate cyber risks.
NP-View lets critical infrastructure providers analyze their network device configuration files, Network Perception indicated. It works offline, evaluates a critical infrastructure provider's firewall, router and switch configurations and identifies any deviation from security policies, standards and best practices.
Comparatively, NP-Live offers insights into a critical infrastructure provider's monitoring device configuration files and network data, Network Perception noted. It automatically alerts a critical infrastructure provider if a relevant compliance or security event occurs.
Todyl Adds Seed Funding
Along with Network Perception, Todyl, a Secure Global Network (SGN) security and networking platform provider, earlier this year raised $2.25 million in a seed funding round. Todyl is using its seed funding to support the development and expansion of its SGN platform and find ways to bolster its market presence, the company said.
Global network security software market revenues are projected to increase at a compound annual growth rate of 11 percent between 2019 and 2024 and could total $22.8 billion by 2024, industry analyst MarketsandMarkets stated. Meanwhile, MSPs and MSSPs can integrate network security offerings into their portfolios to capitalize on rising demand for network security software.
