IAM Acquisition: Global Consulting Firm Protiviti Buys Identropy -

Protiviti, a global consulting firm, has purchased identity and access management (IAM) solutions provider Identropy. The acquisition comes after Protiviti earlier this year introduced Microsoft 365 and Azure security solutions.

Identropy's IAM team will join Protiviti's leading security and privacy practice as part of the acquisition, according to a prepared statement. It also is expected to contribute to Protiviti's digital identity-as-a-service offering.

What Is Protiviti's Digital Identity-As-a-Service?

Protiviti's digital identity-as-a-service offering consists of end-to-end services designed to help organizations leverage IAM, the company said. These services include:

Access Management Policy, Process & Standards: Helps organizations establish IAM policies and procedures
Identity Credential and Solution Selection: Offers insights into different identity credential systems and how they can be used as part of an IAM strategy
Identity Federation Strategy & Implementation: Delivers identity federation strategy and design support

In addition, Protiviti helps organizations leverage current or new systems to implement a secure identity environment, the company indicated.

A Closer Look at Identropy

Identropy helps organizations develop and launch IAM programs, the company said. It offers a variety of IAM offerings, including:

Access management
Cloud identity
Identity governance and administration
Privileged access management (PAM)

Identropy also runs three lines of business: advisory, implementation and managed services, the company indicated. In doing so, Identropy helps these organizations leverage its IAM offerings to achieve their compliance, security, cost containment and operational reliability goals.

MSSP Herjavec Group Acquires IAM Provider Securience

Along with Protiviti's Identropy acquisition, Herjavec Group, a Top 250 MSSP, in July purchased IAM provider Securience. The MSSP is using Securience's IAM capabilities to enhance, expand and grow its identity services globally, said Doug Chin, VP of IAM at Herjavec (and co-founder of Securience).

Global IAM market revenues are projected to reach $12.3 billion this year, industry analyst MarketsandMarkets noted. These revenues also are expected to increase at a compound annual growth rate of 14.5 percent in the next five years and reach $24.1 billion by 2025.
