Secureworks Unveils XDR Offerings for IT, OT Environments

Share

Secureworks, a Top 250 MSSP, has brought to market the Taegis XDR (eXtended detection and response) and Taegis ManagedXDR for OT (operational technology) offerings to help industrial organizations protect against cyber threats.

Taegis XDR combines IT security telemetry with OT intelligence and uses analytics and machine learning to help organizations identify threats and prioritize the most serious ones, according to Secureworks' prepared statement. Taegis XDR features more than 700,000 curated threat indicators and 20,000 curated countermeasures.

What's in it for MSSPs?

MSSPs can use Taegis XDR to deliver managed detection and response (MDR) offerings, Secureworks said. Furthermore, organizations can use Taegis XDR to manage their security operations centers (SOCs).

Meanwhile, Taegis ManagedXDR provides organizations with access to security experts that detect, investigate and respond to threats across IT and OT environments, Secureworks indicated. Taegis ManagedXDR also provides out-of-the-box integrations across solutions from Mimecast, Amazon Web Services (AWS) and other technology providers.

Secureworks Chief Product Officer Kyle Falkenhagen commented on the new releases and what they mean for industrial organizations:

"Industrial organizations will continue to be challenged by an expanding attack surface and evolving threat landscape... Secureworks helps organizations with OT environments reduce cyber risks and enhance their security postures as they complete their digital transformations."

Secureworks Gives Organizations Insights into Their Security Posture

The Taegis XDR and Taegis ManagedXDR for OT announcements come after Secureworks in March 2023 released the Taegis Security Posture Dashboard, which uses data from more than 1,600 Taegis customers to provide visibility into an organization's security posture relative to its peers.

Organizations can use the Taegis Security Posture Dashboard to view security metrics across several areas, such as:

  • Alerts per endpoint
  • Confirmed security threats
  • Investigation response

The Taegis Security Posture Dashboard helps organizations understand how well they would respond to a cyberattack, Secureworks noted. In addition, the dashboard provides organizations with benchmarking data that they can use to find ways to prepare for and guard against cyberattacks.

Secureworks provides cybersecurity solutions to approximately 4,000 customers globally. The company offers a Global Partner Program for MSSPs and solution providers.
