SentinelOne Strengthens AI Tool Visibility for MSSPs with Prompt Security Buy

AI is pouring into the enterprise faster than most security teams can track. Employees are using GenAI tools to move faster, think bigger, and ship more - but they’re often doing it outside IT’s view. That’s where the trouble starts: prompt leaks, data exposure, misuse, and zero guardrails.

SentinelOne is now acquiring Prompt Security to address that head-on. The deal brings Prompt’s real-time visibility, policy enforcement, and AI threat prevention tools into SentinelOne’s broader Singularity Platform. It’s a move aimed at helping security teams protect how AI is actually being used - across browsers, apps, APIs, and agents - without slowing down innovation or layering on more complexity.

Real-Time AI Oversight for the Multi-Tenant World

For managed security service providers (MSSPs), this shift is timely. GenAI use isn’t confined to centralized IT environments. Clients are experimenting across roles, teams, and tools, creating a sprawling digital footprint that’s difficult to monitor or secure.

“The addition of Prompt Security enhances SentinelOne’s ability to support MSSPs managing multiple client environments,” Bryce Grow, VP of Channels Americas, SentinelOne told MSSP Alert. “With real-time visibility into AI tool usage - who’s using what, what data is being shared, how AI agents are behaving - MSSPs can more rapidly detect anomalies, enforce policy-based controls, and deliver more targeted threat intelligence.”

These insights go beyond just monitoring. They’re designed to integrate directly into SentinelOne’s Singularity Platform, enriching endpoint, identity, and cloud telemetry with real-time AI context.

“Combined, this streamlines triage and provides high-quality, context-rich alerts across customers,” Grow explained. “It lets MSSPs offer more advanced AI security services without increasing workload.”

Bringing Shadow AI and LLM Threats into the Fold

For MSPs and MSSPs looking to roll out Prompt Security as a managed service, deployment is lightweight and scalable. The platform integrates at the browser, desktop, and API level - no need for customers to overhaul existing infrastructure.

“It’s built to work even in environments where clients are adopting AI tools without centralized IT control,” said Grow. “Because it’s so easy to deploy and manage remotely, it’s ideal for delivering as a managed service. Paired with SentinelOne’s multi-tenant capabilities, partners can help customers safely adopt GenAI while keeping control over data and risks.”

Prompt Security also adds critical depth to SentinelOne’s ability to detect and govern Shadow AI—tools adopted outside official approval channels. These capabilities are set to plug directly into SentinelOne’s core platform.

“We plan to integrate Prompt Security’s Shadow AI detection with our broader platform to provide unified protection across devices, users, and data,” Grow noted. “By bringing AI usage monitoring into the same place where endpoint, identity, and cloud activity is already tracked, teams get a full picture of what’s happening, even if tools were adopted outside IT’s control.”

This broader visibility will also fuel SentinelOne’s AI analyst assistant, Purple AI, helping SOC teams investigate and respond faster with plain-language insights and automation.

Importantly, Prompt Security is model-agnostic. It works across OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, and on-prem LLMs, allowing SentinelOne to enforce AI-specific protections at scale.

“With Prompt Security’s ability to work across all major AI models and its MCP Gateway, we can now offer much more specific protection against threats like prompt injection, jailbreaks, and misuse,” Grow said. “These defenses will be surfaced in the Singularity Platform alongside policy controls and automated actions. Over time, they’ll connect even more deeply across our endpoint, cloud, and identity tools.”

This move solidifies SentinelOne’s stance on AI security: it’s not just about protecting against threats using AI - it’s about protecting the way organizations use AI. Prompt Security fills a critical gap in that mission, giving MSSPs and enterprises the visibility and control needed to move forward without blind spots.
