Cowbell has created a Cybersecurity Advisory Board (CSAB) to bridge the gap between cybersecurity and cyber insurance, according to a prepared statement.CSAB members will meet monthly via virtual meetings with potential quarterly in-person meetings, Cowbell said. They will provide Cowbell with input into its cyber insurance programs, trends in cybersecurity and new threats that impact small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). They will also offer their expertise on how to teach Cowbell's policyholders about how to utilize cyber insurance and combat cyberattacks.CSAB invests cybersecurity professionals to provide input, Cowbell said. This will allow CSAB members to provide more insights into cyber insurance and cybersecurity topics that impact SMEs.Meanwhile, CSAB is "a significant milestone to support Cowbell's expansion into new markets," the company indicated. Cowbell will rely on CSAB's guidance and support as it looks to build cybersecurity and cyber insurance solutions.

Inaugural members of the CSAB include:- Kurt Sanger, retired lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Marine Corps and former deputy general counsel for U.S. Cyber Command
- Sunil Badlani, cybersecurity risk officer for BNY Mellon Investment Management
- Eric Slesinger, principal and head of investments at venture capital firm Mundi Ventures
- David Tsao, CISO of Instacart
- Srinivas Mukkamala, chief product officer at "everywhere workplace" company Ivanti and founder and CEO of risk-based vulnerability management solutions company RiskSense
- Jeff Brown, CISO for the State of Connecticut
