2nd Watch, Palo Alto Networks Partner for AWS Cloud Security Service

2nd Watch, a Seattle-based MSP that specializes in managed cloud solutions, has launched the 2nd Watch Enterprise Cloud Security Service, which combines the company's 100 percent prescriptive Amazon Web Services (AWS) architectural guidance with the Palo Alto Networks VM-Series Next-Generation Firewall.

The 2nd Watch Enterprise Cloud Security Service is designed to protect organizations against cyberattacks in hybrid or cloud environments, the company said in a prepared statement. It also enables organizations to benefit from 2nd Watch's expertise in designing, deploying, managing and securing AWS workloads, the company indicated.

In addition, 2nd Watch became the first public cloud-native managed security provider to join the Palo Alto Networks NextWave Channel Partner Program. The move will enable 2nd Watch to help more organizations realize the business and technical benefits of securely moving to AWS, 2nd Watch Executive Vice President of Cloud Solution Sales Chris Resch stated.

As a NextWave Channel Partner, 2nd Watch can build Palo Alto Networks VM-Series firewall services, according to Dean Darwin, senior vice president of sales and channel strategy at Palo Alto Networks. 2nd Watch can help organizations simplify and accelerate their migration of enterprise-class applications to the cloud, Darwin stated, and safeguard organizations against cyberattacks.

2nd Watch Raises $19 Million in Series D Funding

2nd Watch in March secured $19 million in Series D funding, increasing its total financing to $56 million. The company planned to use the Series D funds to explore ways to meet customer demand for its managed cloud services and scale its cloud enablement and migration services, according to a prepared statement.

Meanwhile, 2nd Watch doubled its revenue in 2016 and remains committed to helping organizations manage "the largest and most sensitive applications and workloads on AWS," CEO Doug Schneider said.

2nd Watch was founded in 2010 and was one of the first audited AWS Managed Service Provider Partners. It currently supports many globally recognized brands, including:

  • Crate & Barrel.
  • Coca-Cola North America.
  • Lenovo.
  • Motorola.
  • Yamaha.

2nd Watch has more than 400 enterprise workloads under its management and more than 200,000 instances in its managed public cloud, the company stated.
