Cybersecurity Acquisition: Global Consulting Firm Buys TBG Security

J.S. Held, a global consulting firm with financial, scientific and technical expertise, has purchased TBG Security for an undisclosed sum.

This is technology M&A deal number 918 that MSSP Alert and sister site ChannelE2E have covered so far in 2022.

J.S. Held, founded in 1974, is based in Jericho, New York. The company has 1,599 employees listed on LinkedIn. J.S. Held's areas of expertise include construction claims and disputes, environmental health and safety and equipment consulting.

TBG Security, founded in 2003, is based in Franklin, Massachusetts. The company has 15 employees listed on LinkedIn. TBG Security's areas of expertise include information security, business continuity and disaster recovery (BCDR) and managed services.

JS Held Adds Offensive Cybersecurity Solutions

TBG Security allows J.S. Held to expand its cybersecurity and investigation services globally, the companies stated. It will join J.S. Held's Digital Investigations & Discovery (DI&D) team and bolster J.S. Held's compliance, internal and external penetration testing and incident response services.

In addition, TBG Security customers now have access to various J.S. Held's services, including:

  • Global investigations
  • Forensic accounting
  • Economic damages and valuation
  • Restructuring, turnaround and receivership
  • Forensic architecture and engineering

TBG Security strengthens J.S. Held's ability to provide "a depth of offensive solutions, as well as defensive response services," said Stephen O'Malley, senior managing director and head of J.S. Held's DI&D team. It also enables J.S. Held to expand its cybersecurity and investigation services globally.

J.S. Held offers the following cybersecurity services:

  • Strategic cybersecurity consulting
  • Cyber operations and incident response
  • Litigation consulting

These cybersecurity services are backed by a team of former federal law enforcement agents who performed cybercrime investigations, network security experts, forensic accountants, equipment consultants and former prosecutors, J.S. Held indicated. They are available to global organizations.

J.S. Held does not currently offer a channel partner program for MSSPs and MSPs. However, J.S. Held may look to offer a channel partner program in the future.
