Baffle, a company that provides an enterprise encryption platform, introduced its Cloud Data Protection Platform (CDPP) for Amazon Web Services (AWS) at the AWS re:Inforce cloud security conference in Boston, Massachusetts.

CDPP for AWS is an extension of the Baffle Advanced Data Protection solution. It encrypts data across native Amazon Relational Database Service (RDS) environments to simplify data encryption and management in the cloud, Baffle stated.

Furthermore, CDPP for AWS offers a variety of capabilities, including:

  • AWS Database Migration Services and AWS Lambda Serverless Compute support.
  • Data exfiltration control.
  • Data shredding.
  • Field-level encryption.

Baffle Advanced Data Protection is available via the AWS Marketplace. It also can be purchased and licensed from Baffle.

McAfee Introduces Database Security for Amazon RDS

In addition to CDPP for AWS, McAfee recently launched McAfee Database Security for Amazon RDS.

McAfee Database Security for Amazon RDS monitors on-premises databases and provides real-time visibility into AWS database activity, the company said. It also leverages McAfee Database Activity Monitoring, McAfee Virtual Patching and McAfee Vulnerability Manager for Databases to help organizations identify and stop cyberattacks.

Global Database Security Market Provides Growth Opportunities for MSSPs

CDPP for AWS and McAfee Database Security for Amazon RDS could help MSSPs capitalize on the rising demand for database security solutions.

Global database security market revenues are projected to increase at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 18.9 percent between 2017 and 2023, industry analyst MarketsandMarkets indicated. These revenues also could total $7 billion by 2023.
