Carbon Black Adds Endpoint Query, Remediation to Predictive Security Cloud

Carbon Black, an endpoint protection software provider, has added the Cb LiveOps real-time security operations solution to its Cb Predictive Security Cloud (PSC) platform.

Cb LiveOps allows security teams to perform endpoint security inspections, verify patch-level compliance and remediate cyberattacks in real-time, according to a prepared statement.

Cb LiveOps enables security teams to ask questions of all endpoints and remediate issues, Carbon Black indicated. It provides security teams with access to more than 1,500 unique endpoint artifacts to help them quickly discover and analyze cyberattacks and speed up incident response.

With Cb LiveOps, security teams can perform investigations, conduct remote remediation from the cloud and perform on-demand vulnerability assessments, according to Carbon Black. Cb LiveOps also empowers security teams with the ability to save and schedule queries to automate operational reporting on patch levels, user privileges and disk encryption status.

Cb LiveOps is now available via PSC.

Carbon Black and the Next-Generation Endpoint Security Market

Cb LiveOps bridges security and IT operations and provides a consolidated cloud-delivered security stack for security teams, Carbon Black said. In addition, Cb LiveOps could help Carbon Black further distinguish itself from rivals in the next-generation endpoint security (NGES) market, including:

The global endpoint security market is projected to be worth $7.5 billion by 2024, according to industry analyst Global Market Insights. Meanwhile, Carbon Black and other NGES vendors appear poised to capitalize on the rising demand for advanced endpoint security solutions in the years to come.

What Does the Future Hold for Carbon Black?

Carbon Black reported $48.4 million in revenues in the first quarter of 2018, up 35 percent year over year. The company attributed its recent success to MSSPs, distributors and technology partners like IBM and VMware, CEO Patrick Morley stated.

Furthermore, Carbon Black launched an initial public offering (IPO) in May. The company currently offers NGES, endpoint detection and response (EDR) and antivirus solutions to more than 4,000 customers and is expected to have a strong presence at next week's Black Hat USA Conference in Las Vegas.
