Cipher and Securonix Partner to Bring AI-Powered Managed Security to Channel Partners

Cipher and Securonix have partnered to deliver managed security services built for today’s channel partners. The partnership pairs Cipher’s expertise in managed detection and response with Securonix’s AI-driven SIEM to help partners expand their security portfolios without the heavy lift of building a SOC from scratch.

The timing is intentional. Channel partners are under pressure to keep up with customer demand for advanced protection, stricter compliance rules, and a constantly shifting threat landscape. For many, limited budgets, staffing shortages, and infrastructure costs have made it difficult to scale. By combining a global SOC footprint with AI-powered analytics, Cipher and Securonix aim to close that gap with a service that is accessible, affordable, and positioned to help partners grow.

A Direct Path to Advanced Managed Security

At its core, the partnership is designed to give channel partners a direct way to offer advanced managed security services without building or scaling their own infrastructure. Cipher brings its global experience in managed detection and response, while Securonix contributes its analytics-driven SIEM platform built to identify threats in real time. Together, the two companies are positioning the service as a way to strengthen threat detection, accelerate response, and simplify compliance management for organizations that want to extend their cybersecurity capabilities without taking on significant overhead.

Cipher North America CEO Tom Smith explained to MSSP Alert that the combination of Cipher’s xMDR services with Securonix’s cloud-native, AI-driven Unified Defense SIEM changes the competitive dynamics for MSSPs by moving far beyond traditional monitoring and alerting.

"Securonix’s platform provides telemetry and combines enhanced UEBA to empower Cipher’s xMDR Platform and SOC Service to give companies a unified threat detection and response service for their entire security stack,” he said.

Balancing Affordability and Intelligence

For many channel partners, the biggest hurdle to expanding their cybersecurity offerings has always been cost and complexity. Smith acknowledged that this is where the joint offering stands apart, balancing affordability with intelligence in ways that scale.

"SOC-as-a-Service eliminates CapEx or costly buildouts, with pay-as-you-grow pricing that keeps costs predictable. AI, behavioral analytics, and built-in SOAR reduce manual effort while increasing detection fidelity. With a cloud-native foundation, partners instantly access enterprise-grade analytics, compliance-ready retention, and 24/7 monitoring without the overhead. And by enriching threat intel with AI and Cipher’s x63 labs, xMDR, and SOC experience, we’re giving partners enterprise-class detection at a fraction of the cost,” he said.

The result, Smith added, is that channel partners can launch advanced MDR services faster, more affordably, and with the intelligence customers now expect in the AI era.

Moving From Operators to Advisors

The competitive element is also worth noting. In a crowded marketplace, many partners struggle to differentiate their security offerings. Smith believes the alliance gives them a chance to step into an advisory role instead of being limited to alert handling.

“With Cipher’s xMDR services and Securonix’s AI-powered SIEM, channel partners can go beyond monitoring alerts - they can guide customers through compliance, regulatory requirements, and business risk management as trusted advisors,” he said. He pointed to how SOC detections are mapped to MITRE ATT&CK and regulatory frameworks, how threats are explained in terms of business risk and compliance exposure, and how partners can translate cyber incidents into governance and risk decisions.

“Cipher and Securonix understand not only cybersecurity risk but also how to map those risks to business outcomes, ensuring customers can focus on growth while knowing their operations are protected.”

Beyond the immediate benefits, the partnership signals a broader shift in how managed security services are evolving. The demand for automation, intelligence, and scale is rising as organizations look for ways to manage complexity and reduce risk without expanding their internal teams. For many, managed security services are no longer an optional add-on but an essential part of maintaining resilience. The Cipher–Securonix alliance underscores that trend, showing how established players are aligning to make those capabilities more accessible to partners and, ultimately, to the end customers they serve.
