5. SMB Cybercrime Costs: More than $55.7 billion in costs are linked to fraud at small businesses (SMBs) in the U.K. to date, according to new analysis from Barclays and YouGov. Reports in The Independent on Wednesday (April 25) said cybercrime at small businesses has also led to the loss of as many as 50,000 jobs in the country, and 44 percent of SMBs said they have been targeted by some kind of fraud, with more than a fifth reporting losses from being such a target, according to PYMNTS.
4. Talent: JASK, which develops an Autonomous Security Operations Center (ASOC) platform, has hired Greg “Fitz” Fitzgerald as chief marketing officer (CMO). He previously was CMO of Cylance. Earlier, he held key posts at Fortinet, Sourcefire and TippingPoint. Fitzgerald also is on the board of directors for Cyberforce Security, an MSSP.
3. Partnership: Tokyo Electron Device, a leading VAR and systems integrator in Japan, has agreed to resell SentinelOne, an autonomous endpoint protection platform.
2. SIEM: SIEMonster, which develops a Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) platform, will deliver Version 3 of its offering on May 1.
