Mapes possesses 25 years of information technology experience, including 19 years in the information security sector. He has held various security consultant and partner roles at TBConsulting, VIMRO and other IT solutions providers.
In addition, Mapes has helped design information security programs and operations, advise executive teams and boards and perform forensic investigations, intrusion testing and incident response, according to Trapp. He also has worked with healthcare companies and providers, Trapp stated, to help them secure patient medical records and meet HIPAA compliance.
What Does the Mapes Hire Mean for Trapp?
Trapp has recorded three-year sales growth of 557 percent, the company said in a prepared statement. Meanwhile, Mapes could help Trapp further accelerate its growth in several ways.
First, Mapes will grow and build upon Trapp's existing security services suite, according to the company. He is expected to help Trapp provide cybersecurity assessments and advanced managed security services, the company said, and ensure it can deliver "intelligent cybersecurity at an affordable price."
Mapes also may enable Trapp to capitalize on the rising demand for healthcare cybersecurity services.
