Opaq offers network security as a service

Opaq Networks, a network security-as-a-service (SECaaS) provider, has joined the Palo Alto Networks MSSP Partner Program. Managed service providers (MSPs) and MSSPs now can use the Opaq Cloud platform to deliver Palo Alto Networks security solutions as a cloud service.

In addition, Opaq has deployed Palo Alto Networks appliances in its data centers across the United States, according to a prepared statement. Opaq also plans to scale up capacity to support growing demand for its SECaaS among MSPs and MSSPs and their customers.

Opaq's SECaaS enables MSPs and MSSPs to monitor and manage customer networks, enforce cybersecurity policies and generate reports for security and compliance through a single interface, the company said. That way, MSPs and MSSPs can use Opaq's SECaaS to help customers close security gaps and adapt to industry and regulatory requirements.

Also, MSPs and MSSPs can use Opaq's SECaaS to deliver the following security services:

  • Cloud Security Information and Event Management (SIEM): Automates cyber threat data collection and management.
  • Firewall-as-a-Service (FWaaS): Provides on-demand Palo Alto Networks Next-Generation Firewall protection from the Opaq Cloud.
  • Endpoint Protection: Delivers hardware and software asset inventory, software-defined network segmentation and instant quarantine capabilities.
  • Web Application FWaaS: Offers web application firewall (WAF) security powered by Cloudflare from the Opaq Cloud to protect end users against web application security vulnerabilities.

Opaq's SECaaS is delivered via a user subscription model. Meanwhile, midsize enterprises using Opaq's SECaaS have decreased their costs by more than 40 percent and accelerated their deployment time by 91 percent, according to the company.

What Are Opaq's Channel Plans?

Opaq this year announced a 100 percent channel sales model that enables MSSPs, value-added resellers (VARs) and other channel partners to deliver a fully integrated network and security stack to midsize companies via the Opaq Cloud. As part of its channel sales model, Opaq launched a Channel Partner Program that provides partners with go-to-market support, financial incentives and training resources.

Furthermore, Opaq in May partnered with Optiv Security to deliver two-factor authentication as a managed security service. The company also secured $22.5 million in Series B financing in April to support the growth of its go-to-market initiatives.
