Root9B (R9B), a Top 200 MSSP, will deliver managed security and managed detection and response (MDR) services to global energy technology provider Baker Hughes, according to a prepared statement.

With the partnership, R9B will provide system and device management and monitoring via Baker Hughes company Nexus Controls, the businesses said. Also, Nexus will deliver R9B's ORKOS software package.

ORKOS is a privileged access management and password risk assessment solution that helps organizations prevent data breaches caused by weak or stolen credentials, R9B stated.

Organizations can use ORKOS to compare an end-user's corporate cyber credentials against commonly used and weak passwords from around the world, according to R9B. That way, organizations can determine if weak credentials are present.

Furthermore, ORKOS can identify and eliminate "the paths of least resistance" to organizations' information and systems, R9B indicated. ORKOS also enables organizations to run simulations based on network changes, perform compliance audits and generate reports.

R9B: Here's What You Need to Know

In addition to providing ORKOS, R9B offers the ORION threat hunting platform.

ORION identifies and eliminates cyber threats before they lead to cyberattacks, R9B stated. It provides remote interrogation capabilities and enables organizations to develop custom apps, extract threat data and uncover new ways to protect their networks against cyberattacks.

R9B also offers cybersecurity services and training for government and commercial organizations. In doing so, R9B enables these organizations to conduct vulnerability analysis, penetration testing and digital forensics across their networks.
